This is really happening. In almost no time at all my squad and I will be getting on a plane with our packs and we will fly to Japan. And we will have our feet on the ground for this journey. This weekend, I’ve been reminded of the sacrifice of this trip. Many donors have sacrificed their finances for me and for the Lord. So many friendships will be tested and weathered, what a deep sacrifice THAT has felt. I will sacrifice my comfort, my security, my money, my job, my comfort zone, my home, and everything I know. In the spirit of transparency, that really feels very hard.

Last night I watched a room full of parents that are willing to sacrifice their time with their children. They’re allowing and encouraging them to go, learn, teach, and see. So many beautiful things, but at the cost of their own time spent together. At the cost of keeping us underneath their wings where we are close and safe. And I was reminded so deeply of our father in heaven. Who does this exactly. He allows us to choose our paths, He is constantly making a play for our hearts and calling us home to Him. And simultaneously He makes an invitation into adventures together. He is both shielding us under His wings and egging ya on into a broken world to be healers and a people full of love. He made the ultimate sacrifice for us. He chose to die for us. He chose to leave us physically, which is something I’m sure He would have loved to hold on to. Be there physically by our sides, forever, just like many of our earthly parents.

Today I am celebrating sacrifice and the powerful, terrifying, beautiful, eye opening decision to chase after the Lord. Peace and Love to all who are in Christ Jesus(because peace and love and Jesus are a PACKAGE DEAL)

PSALM 20:3-5

May he remember all your sacrifices and accept your burnt offerings.

May he give you the desire of your heart and make all your plans succeed.

May we shout for joy over your victory and lift up our banners in the name of our God.

May the Lord grant all your requests.
